This year the Drive Me Challenge was also about health. In fact since health is tightly connected to safety we decided to put drivers and co-drivers to the test.
North Star Alliance, partner for this event, asked drivers to complete a multiple choice questionnaire about health, in order to verify their knowledge and increase the awareness on this subject. The test questions quizzed drivers on blood pressure, water consumption, diabetes and exercise. Co-drivers were involved too. In fact they were asked to show their resilience to stress with a blood pressure test.
The results were not included in the final scoring, but the best teams received a prize.
The healthiest co-driver was Ivo Barradas, from South Africa. Despite the tension caused by the challenge, his blood pressure was 136/79, almost like a normal and healthy rating of 120/80.
Regarding the health knowledge test, the average score was three correct answers out five. Three drivers excelled in the test, answering correctly to four questions. These are Massimo Ruggeri from Switzerland, Denis Jakobsen from Denmark and John Looman from TNT Fashion.
The results gave an overview of the drivers’ habits and it’s reassuring to notice how many drivers are aware of the problem and they are used to taking care of their health.
