Italian participant drives for the love of it

Rosario Lipani is the Italian winning driver. He’s thoughtful, careful, precise, but also very fond of his job. Even when he doesn’t work, he enjoys driving.

Describe yourself in maximum 20 words.
I’m that kind of person who spends a lot of time thinking before acting and who always tries to do his best.
What did you think when you realized that you were the winner of your national event?
I thought I was living a dream!
Did you expect to win?
Absolutely not!
What kind of driver are you (PUD driver, linehaul, etc.)? How would you describe yourself as a driver?
I’m a PUD driver. I take care of the details and I always try to be careful and kind with customers. I should also speed up during some phases of my daily work.
How many years of experience do you have within TNT?
Three years.
Describe briefly a typical workday.
Every workday seems never-ending: I always run, but when it comes to the end I’m satisfied because I realise that I did everything possible! Safety is at the top for me and Drive Me Challenge confirms the importance of this aspect: we drivers are on the road every day and we should never forget the dangers we can come across.
What do you like about your job?
Driving is my passion, therefore I believe I’m doing the best job possible: even when I don’t work I like to travel, to do long trips: I think my passion for driving is my strength.
What kind of issues do you run into?
The traffic jams for sure, sometimes also the bad conditions of some streets.
What do you think drive me can bring into your life?
I learned a lot of things, especially those aspects connect to safe driving: the marshals gave me some very useful suggestions.
Do you think your team will win also the final?
I don’t know, we will go hard at the challenge: I like to get in the game and defy first of all myself!
