Dutch next-door driver represents Benelux

Benelux finally has selected its best driver: Bryan van Tergouw. He comes from The Netherlands, he’s a very humble man who loves his job, who knows very well all his customers and doesn’t find difficult to get along with them. He’s definitely the ideal next-door neighbor.

Describe yourself in maximum 20 words.
I am the father of Indy and Ygan. I’ve been living with Fatima for 24 years. We live on a houseboat in the centre of Utrecht.
What did you think when you realized that you were the winner of your national event?
I was astonished. I didn’t realise immediately that I was the number one.
Did you expect to win?
No. But during the event I thought I could be third.
What kind of driver are you (PUD driver, linehaul, etc.)? How would you describe yourself as a driver?
I am PUD van driver. I have a very good relationship with my customers. I know them all. Therefore I’d like to give them the best possible service.
How many years of experience do you have within TNT?
I’ve been working for TNT Express since the beginning. Before I was working as a van driver at PTT Post.
Describe briefly a typical workday.
I start my day with a short Express round at 8 o’clock. After one hour I come back for my daily round. I drink a cup of tea with my colleagues. Then I start sorting my round. When I finish I go back to the depot. I often assist the dispatcher.
What do you like about your job?
I like the people I meet. The freedom of my job even though the pressure connected to delivering on time is always there.
What kind of issues do you run into?
My round is in the centre of Utrecht. A lot of traffic jams, traffic lights and bus routes cost me a lot of time and I fight against time to deliver the parcels to my customers on time.
What do you think drive me can bring into your life?
I like the way TNT appreciates my work by organising this event. Winning this event is an extra I never thought of.
Do you think your team will win also the final?
This is possible of course, but the chances are not so high. Every competitor is the best in his region.
