Dear Laurens, as i was one of the volunteers, who worked for 3 months for WFP, the experiences changes my whole life - to a better one. Since the volunteer programme stopped I feel a big loose in the awareness of WFP work on a wide range of colleagues. Of course some are still donating little money. But is it enough?? There is no transparency anymore!! On a result of no transparency of the amount of donations, and no transparency what happens with the donation - at the end nobody will donate anymore. The people specially the schoolkids in The Gambia or any other twinning country dont deserve to be forgotten.

Dear Stefanie, Thanks for your reaction on our blog. Its good to read that your experience as a volunteer in The Gambia changed your lifes positively. Although twinning is still part of the partnership, we realised that volunteer assignments around school feeding are not that much in line with the core competencies of TNT. If we really want to help we need to concentrate on those things where we can make a difference. In our case using our logistical core competences. With this in mind I think a lot of great work is already done and a lot of valuable help can still be done. We also need to realise that the partnership with WFP is not about fundraising and asking our people for donations. We are much more effective by using our knowledge and skills. And in the end that - as a side effect - will increase donations anyway. I hope this takes away your concerns. Please feel free to comment on my post.
